As mentioned in a previous post, Kebony US was nominated for seven different Architizer A+ Awards this year, which, in and of itself, is a rare and very special achievement. And of those seven, Kebony won the Jury and Popular Choice Architizer A+ Awards for Opening, Windows and Skylights for Kebony Modified Wood Panels: two awards for the same product (used for the University of Miami BuildLab project)!

Also, while we aren’t the direct recipient of this award, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, for which Kebony was used throughout as decking, seating, fencing and cladding also was the Jury Winner of the A+ Award for Cultural-Religious Buildings & Memorials.

The Architizer A+ Awards sets itself apart from other architecture award programs by giving everyone a say on the world’s best architecture, spaces and products.

The A+ Awards Jury Award goes to products recognized by the architects who choose them. Entries are judged by a panel of more than 200 practicing architects and design experts from renowned architectural firms around the globe. These are the trendsetters in design for the global construction industry construction industry and the leaders who are actively shaping material specifications today.

The A+Awards Popular Choice celebrates the opinions of a public that lives, works and plays within architecture every single day. Every vote is equal, so as you select your favorite project from the shortlist, your voice is heard. And Kebony—as the winner of two A+Awards this year and a finalist in the categories of Architecture + Facades (Silvernails House), Public Parks (Hunter’s Point South), Building Envelopes + Cladding (Norwegian Hut), Windows + Skylights (University of Miami BuildLab), and Landscape Projects (Walterdale Bridge)—was heard loud and clear.
